World AIDS Day

In 1988, the United Nation General Assembly stated its deep concern about the pandemic proportions of Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS.)

Noting that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared December 1, 1988 World AIDS Day, the Assembly stressed the importance of observing that occasion. Many Episcopal churches will commemorate the day with special services on December 2.
