BLUE ISLAND, Illinois: Healing the earth service

St. Joseph and St. Aidans in Blue Island, Illinois will be hosting a prayer service for the Healing of the Earth on May 18 beginning at 4 p.m.
The service will include a blessing of the community gardens and the Calumet Sag Channel by the congregation's priest in charge, the Rev. Rod Reinhart and other religious leaders. The parish invites all farmers, gardeners, environmental activists and anyone concerned with the planet's sustainability to attend this service to pray for healing the air, land and water; pray for peace, justice and prosperity for our cities; and to speak out against environmental degradation.
